A N N O U N C E M E N T: Steven Assael: Illusions of Reality Exhibit at the Naples Museum of Art -

October 1, 2010 - January 9, 2011

As you know, Master Steven Assael gave a workshop for us the Portrait and Figure Painters Society of SW Florida, Inc.  in March 2010 in Ft. Myers, Florida,  and we are extremely pleased that he’ll be exhibiting his art at the Patty & Jay Baker Naples Museum of Art with the generous cooperation of the Forum Gallery, NYC. Exhibition

Date will be October 1, 2010 to January 9, 2011.

The Naples Museum writes: “Steven Assael is widely recognized as one of the leading figurative artists working today. His distinctive, realist paintings often convey an ancient (or is it apocalyptic?) atmosphere, the contemporarily-garbed denizens characterized by an air of resigned melancholy. A gifted painter, Assael is also a brilliant draftsman whose extraordinary pencil, charcoal and ink drawings are significant parts of his entire body of work. His work was seen previously at the Naples Museum of Art in the exhibition New Old Master. Assael’s paintings and drawings will be featured in this comprehensive exhibition.”

One-Woman Exhibition at the Cape Coral Library - August 2 through September 13, 2010 (Concluded)

This is just to let you know that after two years waiting time I am having a one-woman exhibit at the New Cape Coral Library (off Skyline and Mohawk). My oil and watercolor paintings are of eclectic nature and of various subjects, landscapes, portraits, historical figures and paintings I painted from the old masters from the 19th Century. I am also proud to announce my painting of the 16/17th century Seminole  chief Micanopy who was the boss of Osceola one of his four war chiefs. There are more in the works by me.

Best Greetings to all, Renate

STATEMENT

In general and we believe that we have made a serious and positive impact as a new fine art group ‘portrait and figure painting/drawing’ to excel and assist those artists and students who’d like to advance.  We were created in 2007 and are now active almost 3 years. We are here to stay no matter what direction it goes because we have a positive future.

We offer the following at this time:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THIS IS WHAT'S NEEDED IN OUR FLORIDA AREA:

A centralized larger art facility for artists/teachers/students to learn 'how to see' and to further develop their art to be competitive with todays 'contemporary/traditional/classical' art demands and to advance their present arts and skills.

It takes many years to develop ones eye as an artist. Through consistent hard work which requires competence and diligence that will positively lead to better opportunities and to get accepted into great national and international competitions and recognition.
